Doyle's Journey

At Christmas, 25 pounds lighter.

Pops to Braden, Dad to Kyle, Donna, and Jessica, Guard Shack Guy to the students at school, the guy who carves golf balls...all of those names describe this one amazing man.  His journey is about finding a place where he is able to play with his grandson and not spend the next few weeks recovering from it.

I'm an old school rocker from way back, so I had an interesting duty last night.  I was security for a Christian rock concert, the head liners showed up in a big customized bus, but one of the opening bands--the one that I was most impressed with-- showed up in a Ford Econoline van.  This  5 member band live in this van when they are on the road.

These young men really believe their mission is to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ, and in spite of  the trials and uncomfortable means of travel, truthfully enjoy their  mission. I spoke with several members of this group and I can honestly say I am better for it.  I hope to get to hear them again in the future.  They  are truly modern day disciples spreading the gospel through music.

If you would like to hear one of their songs, click on the link to their Youtube page. We As Humans  Even if you choose not to listen, keep them in your prayers as they travel and spread God's message. Our God is an awesome God, and I am thankful he is with me each and every step of this journey.

At sixty I have realized that I am getting older not old.  I am on this journey to not only be able to get down on the floor with Braden but to do it without pain and be able to get up on my own.    Over the years I have had 21 surgeries and I have let them make me inactive, but that has changed with the birth of my beautiful grandson Braden.   I want to be an example for him to care for what God has gave you .

My son, Kyle, and grandson, Braden, last November.
