Lessons Learned

You can quote me on this, "Houston is hot, even in May."

OLD DOGS CAN LEARN NEW TRICK, BUT IT TAKES TIME AND PATIENCE

First: The most important mental adjustment that we had to make was simple: You, and you alone, are responsible for every thing that comes out of your mouth and everything that goes into your mouth.  Yeah, I know, you are saying, duh!  But this knowledge has to sink way down deep into your soul for you to really understanding that losing weight is about accepting responsibility for what you eat and the verbal messages you unconsciously send yourself.
Second: Every major restaurant chain has a nutritional breakdown of its menu.  Knowing before we walk into the restaurant what our calorie friendly options are has helped us keep to our eating plan.

Third:  Just because I don't think it is true, doesn't mean it isn't true. Thanks, Dad.  Miss you.

Fourth: Don't be too quick to hit the save button.
